Common Core Update: 
Math- Chp. 11- Geometry and Volume
Math Tutoring is available school wide afterschool M,T,W and F from 3:30-4:00 –Library and on Wednesdays at 1:30 with 4-H
Writing-  Narrative Writing
Reading-Speaking and Listening Standard 3 
Summarize the points a speaker makes and explain how each claim is supported by reasons and evidence. Class Story-“Across the Wide, Dark Sea” and “Tangerine”
Science- Review Concepts in Heredity, Matter, Magnetism, Electricity and Landforms
Spelling/Vocabulary- Lesson 12-Plural forms of words
***HOMEWORK- The packets that I prepare are very important to support the learning done in our class for the week. Please help your student be responsible for returning their packet each Friday. It is better to bring in a half completed packet vs. no packet.  Non-returned homework = 0/100 points

We are sad to be losing Mr.Burton, as our wonderful principal at the end of this year.  He has been promoted to be the Director of Elementary of Education for our district. He has done great things for our school and he will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best and are so thankful for his love for the students and learning here at East.

Science- Heredity: Students will understand that traits are passed from the parent organisms to their offspring, and that sometimes the offspring may possess variations of these traits that may help or hinder survival in a given environment.
Spelling/Vocabulary- Lesson 9- words with endings –ed, -ing, -er and -est
