Common Core Update:

Math- I sent home a Parent Key for Chp.5 to help you with your students math homework. Please take time to check their work.

We are now moving into Chp.6 with Fractions

 Math Tutoring is available schoolwide afterschool M, T, Th and Friday from 3:30-4:00 from Mr.Jenkins.

Writing-  5 Paragraph Essay – Our Direct Writing Assessment will be this month. Practice on Utah Writes at home if possible.

Reading- Reading: Informational Text Standard 6 
Analyze multiple accounts of the same event or topic, noting important similarities and differences in the point of view they represent. Class Story-“ Satchmo Blues” and “Tangerine”  Next Book Report Genre: Mystery more info will be sent home on Monday.

Science- We are now trading with Mr.Greenhalgh- Topic: Matter and Mr.Coates-Topic: Electricity ** Thinking Ahead- I require the Science Fair/Poster as a homework assignment in Science. Start thinking about a topic you would like to learn more about.  SCIENCE FAIR- March 27^th

Spelling/Vocabulary- Lesson 1 short u sound….  Spelling BEE-Watch for information coming home from the PTA about the school competition. The District Spelling BEE will be held on March 13^th.  You are welcome to grab a printed copy from the office or you can go onto the East Elementary website and print out the Scripps List for 4^th-5^th grade to begin practicing!!
