March 7-11th- SEP Week Students will be dismissed each day at 2:30 p.m.
Mon. March 14th- DARE Graduation 2:00pm
Tues. March 15th- Kindergarten Registration 11-3

UTAH STATE CORE UPDATE:

Math- Chp.12 Perimeter and Area
Spelling- Lesson 21  ** Tests are each Friday
Science- Electricity-Discovery gateway Presentation: chemistry outreach program.
Social Studies- “ the nation grows and divides”
Reading- small group novels, class story- Evelyn Cisneros-prima ballerina
Writing- We will put all of our hard work to the test this week, in writing a
5 paragraph essay using the four square model.

SEP CONFERENCE TIMES: Your student will be bringing home an appointment slip-please sign and return as soon as possible.

Utah State Core Update:

Math- Mulitiplying Fractions and Mixed Numbers
Science- Electricity
        Science Fair Optional 200pts. Extra-Credit
Social Studies- Patriot Award Pass-Off Day-Thursday
Writing- Preparing for our test next week.  Your students
have been working hard on their 4-square format and
developing five paragraph essays. WAY TO GO!!
Reading- Silent Reading, Partner Reading, Vocabulary
Practice, Fluency and Comprehension

         Special thanks to Officer Fisher for his weekly D.A.R.E. lessons.   We enjoyed walking to the Heritage Center to listen to the Merlin Trio. Thank you for helping your student with less tardies and having good attendance.  Welcome to our class AlainaJ

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

Mon. Feb.14th- Valentine’s Class  Party and Afterschool Math
                                     3:30-4:00
Wed. Feb.16th- Walking Fieldtrip to the Heritage Center- Merling
                                     Trio Concert
March 15th- 11-3pm Kindergarten Registration

Utah State Core Update:

Math- Beginning Chp.11- Multiplying Fractions and Mixed Numbers
               It’s very important for your student to know their times tables.
Science- Beginning Electricity- On Tuesday we will have a Demonstration    
               from Utah Power and Light.
Social Studies- “The United States Grows” Patriot Award Pass-Off last  
                Thursday of each month.
Reading- “ Satchmo’s Blues”, Problem-Solution Chart, Small Group Work.
                Keep up on that 30 minutes of nightly reading!
Writing- 4 square writing.  Our Direct Writing Assessment StateTest will take
                place  this month.  Please encourage your student to write and
                practice typing.  It’s very important to try not to be absent.  I
               appreciate how hard your students have been working on their
                paragraphs.

Mr.Burton is encouraging students to strive for 100% attendance and  fewer tardies.  Thank you for your support.
